ABOUT THE COMPANY:

Mission - The Create. Inspire. Change. Theater Company is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization whose mission is to provide families and children, regardless of socioeconomic standing, exposure to both artistic expression and theatrical performance at minimal to no cost. The CIC Theater Company is specifically committed to reaching those whose standing limits their exposure to the arts. cictheaterco.org

About our process – The CIC Theater Company has a unique process, as our shows are geared towards underserved kids in the Boston area. At our Outreach Events, our partners arrive and participate in a 45-minute workshop, designed to introduce them to different elements of the show they are about to see.  After this, they get their own private performance of the show, with a possible meet and greet or talk back after. It is important to us that we are transparent about our mission from the beginning, thus allowing us to find actors who are the right fit for both the show and the company. All actors will be required to participate in a portion of the before show “workshop”.

SEEKING:

We are looking for non-equity performers who are strong singers, actors and dancers. We are specifically looking for actors of all ethnicities, genders and identities. All roles are available.

DOROTHY GALE: 16-25 (Mezzo/Mix).

Young Kansas girl, earnest, expressive, and strong-willed, in search of something more. Very strong singer who moves well.

Desperate for a heart. A kind-hearted romantic. Singing and dance required. Strong baritone / tenor to G.

ZEKE / COWARDLY LION: 25-45 (Baritone).

A mix of bravado and cowardice. Should move well. Cuddly actor with excellent comic timing. Vocal range: Strong baritone to F.

ALMIRA GULTCH / WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST: 25-60.

Character villain with an over-the-top stage presence. Excellent comic actress, has a killer cackle.

PROFESSOR MARVEL / THE WIZARD: 25-65.

Traveling salesman who lives by telling fortunes; a con-man but with a good heart.

GLINDA / AUNT EM: 25-45. (Soprano).

Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and beloved. Strong singer. Aunt Em is demanding but loves her niece.
